Wordsmith
Word choice plays a huge role in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn because they help represent the intelligence level of the characters. For example, through Huck's vocabulary we see that he is not an educated person but still has negative biased views towards people who may in fact be smarter than he is. Mark Twain writes the book as a chracterization of the negative opinions towards African Americans in the south by racist whites through incorporation of racial slurs throughout the book. These words are obviously meant to demean Blacks and have caused a lot of controversy around the book, but some also argue that Twain uses these words in defense of African Americans to expose the racism and hardships they face.
